Christmas Paperwork Reminders before the celebrations begin!!

The end of the year can often be a busy time for farmers trying to get everything done before a well earned rest and a mince pie at Christmas. However, before you go grabbing that mince pie, grab your pen and get the final paperwork of the year out of the way first!

Firstly, update your holding register with the number of sheep and goats that are on your land as of 1st December.

Secondly the ‘Annual Sheep and Goat Inventory 2018’ needs to be returned to Defra by 31st December. You can now submit your returns online by following this link - https://defra.htkhorizon.com/login.jsp?k=6XijSdiDDKWVB

Third and finally (I can see that mince pie getting closer!!) the RPA have released a Winter 2018 update on BPS and Stewardship Schemes in preparation for 2019 applications - the link for this can be found here: https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/762253/Rural_Payments_Agency_update_-_winter_2018.pdf. Also the Guide to Cross Compliance for 2019 has been released for farmers to adhere to in the forthcoming year - the link for this can be found here: https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/764890/Cross_Compliance_2019_rules_v1.0.pdf

Apart from that, all that is left for me to do is to wish all of our customers old and new a very happy Christmas and New Year. We look forward to working with you in 2019 as we transition out of the European Union into a more prosperous agricultural industry.

Now you can have that mince pie...enjoy!
